Jeff De Francisco is a graduate of Occidental College, Southwestern University School of Law (J.D.) and Loyola Law School (Master of Laws in Taxation). While at Southwestern, Jeff was a member of the Law Review and worked for the Hon. Kim McLane Wardlaw in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals. Jeff is a Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate law, certified by the State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization, a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel, and peer rated AV® Preeminent by Martindale Hubbell. He has also been designated a "Rising Star" by Los Angeles Magazine. He currently teaches advanced estate and gift taxation at Loyola Law School. Jeff has been selected by his peers as one of Pasadena Magazine's Top Attorneys since 2011.
He is licensed to practice before all California State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. He is a member of the California Bar Association, Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Pasadena Bar Association. He has published articles on trust administration and co authors the Income Taxation of Estates and Trusts Chapter of California Education of the Bar's book, Estate Planning. He has lectured on charitable giving and estate planning to various bar and community groups.
Jeff is married and has two children. When not practicing law, Jeff can be found substituting at the organ console or behind the conductor's stand at various churches around town, including Incarnation Church in Glendale where he was Director of Music and Choirmaster/Organmaster for eight years. In addition to being President of the non profit Neighborhood Music School in Boyle Heights, Jeff spends much of his spare time working with other non profit organizations, including serving on the finance committee of the Pasadena Waldorf School and on the Advisory Board of the San Gabriel Valley Music Theatre. An Eagle Scout, Jeff also volunteers his time with the Boy Scouts. He enjoys traveling with his wife and daughters, learning Italian and dabbling in computer programming and networking.
